Here’s a social media marketing piece I created for ABCmouse.com. We often created animated ads from our best static ad designs, imagining and creating the movements and dynamics that would bring the elements into a final composition similar to the static ad.
My background in motion design.
I’ve been doing animation and motion design work since Adobe Flash was popular. I worked in that program for well over a decade, creating everything from animated banner ads to complete websites, all built in Flash.
Later, once Adobe Photoshop introduced simple animation functionality, I started making animated banners and GIFs. Not long after that, Adobe launched Animate, which is a pretty good program for basic animation work.
I’ve also spent some time creating learning courses with PowerPoint and Adobe Captivate. Presentation design apps like PowerPoint and Keynote can be great tools for creating simple yet elegant animations and motion design projects.
