Project Summary:
Here’s a simple branding video I put together as a creative exercise. I wanted to develop a basic concept for a beauty brand, one that was focused on skincare and makeup products for older women. It was important to me to make it diverse, showcasing a variety of skin colors, body types, and ages.
All of the video footage was sourced from ShutterStock, and the music is from the Free Music Archive. The editing was done in iMovie and some of the titles were animated with Keynote. It’s remarkable how much you can do with just the apps that come free with every Mac!
My background in video.
I started shooting and editing video back in 2008, while I was working for Lip Service, the legacy alt fashion brand. My first project was shooting BTS of our product photo shoots.
Soon I began creating promo reels and content, for new season releases and other campaigns, as well as for some of the models and other creatives on the Lip Service team, including some music videos.
As a photographer for the last 15 years, I’ve done some video work for creative professionals and private clients. I’ve also shot and edited BTS footage of some of my photo shoots.
I’m currently working on a variety of projects to develop my craft, from real estate and local community initiatives to fashion and entertainment campaigns.
